How we make money

The short version

We earn money in two ways: broker referral commissions and advertising. We do not sell the software, and we take no payment from the people who make it.

Broker referrals

If you open a trading account through a link on this site, the broker pays us a share of the spread or commission on the trades you make. This costs you nothing extra — the amount comes out of what the broker already charges.

What this could distort: we have a financial interest in you opening an account and trading. That is a real conflict and you should read our content with it in mind. It does not, however, give us any interest in a particular product being recommended — we are paid the same regardless of which system you run, or whether you run one at all.

What it does mean: a site funded this way has an incentive to encourage trading volume. We try to counter that by publishing failure rates as prominently as results, but you should weigh the incentive yourself.

Advertising

We display third-party advertising. Advertisers have no access to our editorial process and cannot influence a finding. Ads may be served by networks that use cookies — see the privacy policy.

What we do not take

  • No vendor payments. We do not accept money, free licences in exchange for coverage, or sponsorship from the developers of the products we write about.
  • No paid rankings. Position in a ranking cannot be purchased.
  • No paid removals. We will not delete a finding because a vendor asks. We will correct it if it is wrong.

Product names

Product and company names appear for identification only. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any expert advisor vendor.
