About EA Survivors
What this site is
EA Survivors is a catalogue of MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 expert advisors, indicators and scripts, with one difference from the sites that came before it: we publish the ones that did not survive.
Most EA review sites quietly delete the accounts that blew up. What remains is a shelf of winners, which tells a reader almost nothing — because the interesting question is not "which one made money last month", it is "which ones are still alive, and what killed the rest".
What we actually check
Every product in the catalogue is screened for one thing before anything else: does the loss on a single position have an upper bound?
A system with a hard stop on every trade and no position-adding has a worst case. A martingale, grid, averaging or "recovery" system does not — it manufactures smooth monthly returns by deferring risk into a rare, account-sized event. That is not a high-risk strategy. It is a strategy with no floor.
When we screened the 1,180 products in this catalogue, 74.6% used at least one unbounded-loss mechanism. That number is the single most useful thing we can tell a first-time buyer.
Why we are doing this
The person behind this site traded gold with leverage and blew up three accounts doing it. Not because the market was unusual, but because of exactly the mechanism described above — a system that averages into a losing position works until the one time it does not.
That is an expensive way to learn something that could have been read on a product page, if anyone had been willing to write it down. This site is the attempt to write it down.
What we do not do
- We take no payment from EA vendors, and we never accept money to change or remove a finding.
- We do not recommend martingale, grid or averaging systems. They stay in the catalogue because people search for them by name and deserve to find an honest description, but they will never appear in a ranking.
- We do not claim a backtest proves anything. A backtest can only disqualify.
How we are funded
We earn from broker referrals and from advertising. Neither depends on any particular product being recommended. The full breakdown, including what that incentive could distort, is on our disclosure page.
Getting it wrong
We will publish incorrect things. When that happens, tell us and we will correct the page and say what changed rather than editing quietly. Corrections are cheaper than credibility.
